Identifying your leaders, team and tasks based on the underlining visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learning or primary skill-set needed and aligning each with your overall desire or deliverable, will prove to be beneficial for your entire team and company overall culture. This methodology demonstrated to me that by allowing people to access information in terms they are comfortable with will increase not only their retention but also has a huge influence on their confidence, job satisfaction and sense of belonging within the company.
Presenting in the learning style they prefer may not necessarily increase the learner’s motivation to learn but it absolutely does decrease the resistance associated with learning. So while some may hold the position that learning style may not enhance the learning outcome, it can be proven that it does enhance the learning experience.
Here is a LIVING EXAMPLE:
A client was introducing a new product/service to their team and asked why they did not offer a podcasts of the expert level training. The team leader had a difficult time even considering this as a viable learning option. For him he could not imagine trying to learn how to configure or learn something without being able to see a diagram or visual reference. For the team mate the visual guide had no relevance. It is fascinating to see how some will turn off the audio when given an opportunity to watch and others prefer to tune out watching to listen. There is not right or wrong it’s a matter of experience and preference.
You will find that each person will have very strong preferences for a particular learning style. As a leader or one striving for efficacies, understanding and incorporating each style allows for a freer flow of information in your life and in your business.

Physical (kinesthetic): A kinesthetic-dominant learner prefers a physical experience. They like a "hands-on" approach and respond well to being able to touch or feel an object or learning prop. Because they learn best by doing the learning or work environment is very important for this type of learner to be successful. They need to be able to respect their manager and feel included, respected, and safe in order to bring their depth of talent and skill to the table.

When Training A KINESTHETIC LEARNER:
In order to get the best results out of this type of learner, you need to set up a calm work environment. One that in inclusive and supports a learning curve so they are free to make a mistake while striving for their perfection. Additionally, they may do better in an environment where they have the opportunity to move around as they work or think. This worker may come across as having nervous energy, but it is just how they process information, as they are physical and the experiential learner. They are not being disrespectful if they fidget while listening or learning; it is actually a sign that they are paying attention. Only about five percent of the population has this learning style, so you may not work with type of learner very often.

HOW UNDERSTANDING LEARNING STYLES CAN SUPPORT CAREER GROWTH
Companies, big and small, love data. Data analysis offers a way to divulge meaning from tons of information and seemingly arbitrary numbers describing clients and customers. Data can be viewed in several different ways. Some data analysts love spreadsheets. Others will use charts and graphs. However, not everyone understands and processes data in the same way, and this is highly correlated to your learning style. If your boss provides an Excel file of historical monthly sales data, but you better understand data through pie charts, graphs, and illustrations, there are several programs available for translating data-heavy files into easy-to-understand visuals. Also, ask a colleague or your boss to talk through the data with you to ensure you fully understand what you’ve been given. Learning doesn’t stop with college graduation, nor does your learning style ever stop impacting the way you understand and take in information. Recognizing and understanding your learning style is how you can grow in your profession, and beyond.
